Moscow

Moscow is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,039 at the 2020 census. Incorporated in 1908 from Madison Township and named for the capital of Russia, from where many of its earlier settlers immigrated. The community owes its start to Reverend Peter Rupert, a Lutheran minister, who built a log home here. Lumbering and agriculture were the chief industries of the borough’s early days.
