Art exhibit in Montrose closes after Monday

A soldier sent to guard Susquehanna County during World War II fell in love with the place and later incorporated it into his work as a professional artist. Monday is the last day to see and purchase several of his drawings at the Susquehanna County Historical Society.

Shortly after Pearl Harbor, Armondo Dellasanta was assigned to guard railroads. Later in life he would tell stories about being invited to a stranger’s home for Christmas dinner and sleeping in rail cars.

Sales benefit the Historical Society. The museum,18 Monument St., Montrose, is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
