Over the next few weeks, The Times-Tribune is honored to present the profiles of each member of the Scholastic Superstars Class of 2025. These outstanding students were nominated by their schools and chosen by a panel of local officials.
Austin Shramko, Riverside Junior-Senior High School
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
A: I’m most proud of my academic accomplishments. Being able to multitask a rigorous schedule at my high school along with an accounting degree is not easy. My determination has been critical.

Q: What were your most rewarding school or community activities?
A: “Spikes for Vikes,” which is a volleyball fundraiser for families within Riverside, has been my most rewarding activity. It showed me how rewarding giving back can be.
Q: What is something you do to relax?
A: I like playing video games, going on car rides, or going out to eat. I can find a relaxing aspect in almost any activity!
Q: Plans after high school graduation?
A: University of Florida, aerospace engineering.
Q: Who do you most admire and why?
A: My parents and grandparents! They had to deal with me for many years, and I’m not sure how they did it. The amount of patience they had is deserving of admiration. I owe all of my accomplishments to them and their efforts!
Q: What advice do you have for younger students?
A: Take every opportunity. If you take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you, you are bound for success. Coming from a smaller school, I know how important it is to take all chances.

His creativity and entrepreneurial approach to tasks provides him with a unique background for the field of aerospace engineering. I believe that this will allow him to be innovative and industrious, testing the limits of science and leaving him open to scientific research, to exploring new ideas, and to developing new technology.”
