Dickson City

Neighborhood watch: Dickson City Neighborhood Watch meeting, Wednesday, 7 p.m., Dickson City Municipal Building, 901 Enterprise St.; guest speakers will be William Bilinski, Dickson City chief of police, and Christopher J. Szewczyk, magisterial district judge for Dickson City, Olyphant and Throop. It will be followed by a Q&A session. Three new Eagle Scouts from Troops 21 and 322, Dawson Reed, Owen Benardi and Evan Benardi, will also be recognized; refreshments will be served.

Green Ridge

Sportsmen meet: Green Ridge Sportsmen’s Club meeting, Friday, 7 p.m., clubhouse in East Lemon.

Midvalley

Bus trip: Mid-Valley travelers bus trip to Penn’s Peak, Aug. 27. The group will listen to the music of the Jersey Beach Boys as they pay tribute to the Beach Boys and Frankie Valli. Following the luncheon show there will be a tour of Jim Thorpe; $125, for reservations call 570-955-6989.

Scranton

Scranton Tech 50th reunion: The Scranton Technical High School class of 1975 50th reunion, July 19, La Buona Vita in Dunmore. Reservations are due by June 30. For information, contact Ron at 570-650-5131, or Bob at 272-800-9725.

Trash pickup: Scranton City Hall and the Department of Public Works will be closed Thursday in observance of Juneteenth. Both garbage and recycling will be one day behind.

Walkable labyrinth: The walkable labyrinth at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., will be available Tuesday  and Wednesday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Thursday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Sawtelle Auditorium.

Thornhurst Twp.

Rummage sale: Rummage sale, Friday and June 27, 4-8 p.m., and Saturday and June 28, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Thornhurst Methodist Church, 342 Old River Road.

Throop

Trash pickup: Throop Borough Municipal Building and the Department of Public Works will be closed Thursday for the Juneteenth holiday. Thursday’s trash will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s trash will be collected on Monday.
