Lackawanna County

Walk with a Doc events: The Wright Center for Community Health monthly Walk with a Doc events: Saturday, 9 a.m., Lackawanna River Heritage Trail in Jermyn. Walkers should gather at the Delaware Street Trailhead entrance; and June 14, 9 a.m., Lackawanna River Heritage Trail in Scranton. Walkers should gather at the Olive Street entrance. The physician-led initiative brings health care providers and community members together for an invigorating walk with doctors and other health care professionals. Participants will be able to exercise, engage with health care professionals and connect with new people. The walks are free and open to the community, accommodating people of all ages and fitness levels. No preregistration is necessary.

Insulin pump support group: Insulin Pump Support Group that regularly meets at the Abington Community Library will have a change of location for the June meeting because the library is closed that day. The Gathering Place, 304 S. State St., Clarks Summit, will host the June 19 meeting at 6 p.m. Shivaun O’Donnell, R.N., a certified diabetes care and education specialist with Tandem Diabetes, will once again speak to the group; free.
