Container planting party: Container planting party, June 2, 6 p.m, Valley Community Library, 739 River St., Peckville. Penn State Extension master gardeners will present this hands-on program on hosting a container garden. The program is geared to adults; registration: 570-489-1765.

Archery fest: High Tines Archery Freedom Archery Fest, June 20-22, Camp Freedom, 284 Number 7 Road, Carbondale. After two years of holding the event at a local ski resort, High Tines Archery has partnered with Camp Freedom to give the event a new home. All facets of the event are the same except its location. With over 2,000 acres of ground, Camp Freedom will host new course setups, a vendor village, novelty shots and the truck giveaway shot. The partnership also allows the event to help Camp Freedom’s cause of aiding veterans, first responders, Gold Shield and Gold Star families.
