“Forgiveness Sunday” was celebrated in March at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, the last Sunday before Lent. Traditionally, Orthodox Christians eat dairy products only until Easter. “Forgiveness Sunday” vespers are about fasting and forgiveness, entering the Lenten season of the “fast” and forgiving one another. The “Forgiveness Dinner” was held at the church hall on Lackawanna Avenue. From left: Matushka Maryann Fetcho, James Witek, Matushka Donna Witek, Matushka Krya Nightgingle and Julianne Howanetz.
