Good Trouble Lives On: Civil rights rallies set in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

People plan to make “good trouble” Thursday by protesting Trump administration policies at rallies across the nation, including in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.

The Scranton event is 7-8:30 p.m. at Lackawanna County Courthouse Square, according to a map of events at goodtroubleliveson.org. The Wilkes-Barre event is 6-8 p.m. at Wilkes University’s Stark Learning Center, 150 S. River St. Attempts to reach organizers of the local events were not immediately successful.

Good Trouble Lives On marks five years since the death of civil rights leader Congressman John Lewis, who urged peaceful, nonviolent action against injustice — he called it “good trouble.”

More than 1,600 events, including rallies, marches and voter registration drives, are planned across the country.
