DUNMORE — Lane restrictions for paving and guardrail work will be in place this week on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound in Lackawanna County, officials from the state Department of Transportation announced Monday.

Drivers will encounter the restrictions from Exit 199 (Scott Twp.) to the Susquehanna County line from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Thursday, and from mile marker 205 at the Susquehanna County line to Exit 199 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, depending on the weather, PennDOT officials said.

When traveling through a work zone, motorists should drive the speed limit, turn on their headlights, pay attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions, PennDOT officials said. Additionally, drivers should use both lanes of travel and take turns merging into the open lane in high-traffic locations.
