A Bucks County man was arrested on criminal mischief charges early Sunday after throwing a brick through the window of a local TV news station, Plains Twp. police said.

Elie Zola, 38, of Doylestown, was arrested after police encountered him at the FOX 56 news station building at 1181 state Route 315 around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police said they were initially dispatched to a caller who requested that 911 “send everyone.” The person called a second time saying he had thrown a brick through a window in an effort to escape someone who was trying to kill him, police said.

Officers arrived and found Zola, who admitted he was not in fact being pursued but instead just wanted help. Police said Zola did not elaborate on what type of help he needed.

Officers charged Zola with criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.

Magisterial District Judge Carol Davenport arraigned Zola on the charges Sunday morning and set bail at $25,000.

Zola was being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 6.
