Maura Pivirotto, Abington Heights High School
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
A: My greatest accomplishments are most likely winning the district championships in both lacrosse and soccer. I’m also really proud of being selected as an NEIU Scholar of the Year for Abington Heights.
Q: What were your most rewarding school or community activities?
A: My most rewarding community activities were volunteering at youth soccer and lacrosse camps. Seeing young girls learn the sports I have grown to love and helping to grow the sport was so fulfilling.

Q: Who do you most admire and why?
A: Someone I truly admire is Malala Yousafzai, because of her passion to fight for women’s education. I admire her bravery and fearlessness to fight for justice and to make the world a better place. She demonstrated to the world that you are never “too young” to make a difference and fight for what is right.
