Emily Hanson, Blue Ridge High School
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
A: I’m most proud of remaining on top of my schoolwork and grades while working as a high school student and being in sports. I have had a busy high school career, but it is one I will not forget.
Q: What were your most rewarding school or community activities?
Emily Hanson (Emily Hanson)
Emily Hanson (Emily Hanson)
A: My most rewarding school activity was going to cheer competitions with my team. We decided to create a competition team two years ago, and it has been one of the highlights of my high school career.
Q: What is something you do to relax?
A: Something I do to relax is spend time with my dog, Nova. She is my pride and joy, and I love her.
Q: Plans after high school graduation?
A: East Stroudsburg University for my undergraduate degree in biochemistry, graduate school to get my doctorate to become a specialized dermatologist.
Q: Who do you most admire and why?
A: The person I admire the most is my mom. I have watched her overcome numerous obstacles life has thrown at her, but she never lets it diminish her strength. My mom has been my biggest supporter throughout my entire life, whether in school or out. She has been at every cheer competition and game to cheer me on from the stands, and she has pushed me to be my best during senior year to help me achieve what I want for my future. My mom has always told me to be the best version of myself and has taught me the value of being honest and kind. She is there for me when I’m down, and I know she will continue to be there for me with whatever life has to offer. She is who I want to be when I’m older.
Q: What advice do you have for younger students?
A: Advice I have for younger students is to always use your resources and to ask for help when you need it. The teachers want you to succeed, but you also have to want to.
