Volunteers with Moms Demand Action of Lackawanna County will honor in June the lives of those affected by gun violence and demand a future free from gun violence. On June 6, National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Scranton Mayor Paige Gebhardt Cognetti will deliver a Wear Orange proclamation at 10 a.m., at City Hall, 340 N. Washington Ave. On June 7, at 10 a.m., as part of Wear Orange Weekend, volunteers with Moms Demand Action of Lackawanna County will host a trail cleanup and beautification project at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail Olive St. Trailhead with Lackawanna Heritage Valley.
