Many government offices and services are closed Thursday in observance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.
Lackawanna County and Scranton offices are closed including the Lackawanna County Government Center, the courthouse, City Hall and the city’s Department of Public Works. Trash and recycling pickup in Scranton will be delayed one day.
All PennDOT driver license and photo centers are closed. Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services at www.dmv.pa.gov.
Most U.S. banks and their branches are closed. The United States Postal Service is closed as well.
U.S. stock markets are closed.
