SCRANTON — Police and firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision early Saturday night at Mulberry Street and Adams Avenue.
The incident involving a Subaru Forester traveling east on Mulberry Street and a Nissan Xterra traveling north on Adams Avenue occurred around 6:43 p.m.
According to police on the scene, the Subaru driver heading east on Mulberry Street went through a red light and the collision with the northbound Nissan on Adams Avenue caused the Subaru to roll over onto its roof; the Subaru driver faces a citation.
The Subaru ended up on its roof facing west in the right lane of the two lanes of eastbound Mulberry Street, and partly on the sidewalk in front of the Martin Luther King Jr. mural. The Subaru appeared to have sustained extensive damage, while the Nissan had damage to the front passenger side.
There were no injuries, police said. No further information was immediately available.
Police closed the one-way Adams Avenue between Linden and Mulberry streets, and closed Mulberry Street in both directions between Adams and Jefferson avenues.
