A Scranton woman attacked her daughter during a disagreement over a man she brought back to their shared home, according to a criminal complaint.
Shavon Dillon, of 516 N. Irving Ave., faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
According to the complaint:
At about 5 a.m. on July 20, officers responded to the residence for the report of a domestic assault.
When officers arrived at the scene, they could hear a woman yelling loudly from inside the residence, later identified as Dillon, 46.
Police entered the residence and spoke with Dillon, noting she smelled of alcohol.
Dillon said she was upset because her daughter Amyah Dillon disrespected her during an argument over a man she brought home.
Dillon said her daughter threw ice cubes at her, but didn’t hit her and she wasn’t injured.
Officers then spoke with Amyah Dillon who said her mother brought home a man she didn’t know, who she believed to be under the influence of drugs.
She said after sharing her concerns with her mother, her mother began to throw her belongings down the steps. Dillon then grabbed her daughter by the neck and hit her in the face, breaking her glasses.
Amyah Dillon had a mark on her right eye and scratch marks on her right arm during the altercation, police said.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on July 30 before District Judge Sean McGraw.
