The public had a chance to tour the new Lackawanna County Library System bookmobile Thursday at the North Pocono Public Library.
Visitors had a chance to explore the vehicle’s features, browse the collection and learn about its services. The new 32-foot-long hybrid bookmobile arrived earlier this month. It includes a large television and wheelchair lift on the outside, and removable bookshelves and tables inside, as well as a service window. It will be filled with books of different genres for all ages, DVDs, a small “library of things” — a collection of assorted items — and puzzles.
The bookmobile will visit other libraries on the following days and times: Nancy Kay Holmes Library, Friday, 11 a.m. to noon; Abington Community Library, July 24, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Valley Community Library, July 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Lackawanna County Children’s Library, July 30, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Albright Memorial Library, July 30, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; and Taylor Community Library, July 31, 10 to 11 a.m.
