Scranton hosts Black History Month lecture

Shannen Dee Williams, Ph.D., associate professor of history at the University of Dayton, presented “In the Shadow of the Cross: Excavating the Hidden History of Black Catholic Nuns in the United States” as part of the University of Scranton’s Black History Month programming. During February, the University of Scranton hosted lectures, panel discussions, social events, film screenings and other events to celebrate Black History Month.
