Additional Scranton Jazz Festival acts have been announced.
The Scranton Jazz Festival Big Band, with guest performers, will perform on Aug. 3.
That show, and an Aug. 2 show by funk and soul band Tower of Power, are the only events requiring tickets to attend.
The rest of the Aug. 1-3 events take place at restaurants and bars or free public spaces. The schedule is posted at scrantonjazzfestival.org.
The 17-piece regional Scranton Jazz Festival Big Band will welcome several guest performers to the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple. The opening act will be members of the Pennsylvania Jazz Institute Student Ensemble. The concert will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 to $45.
The Tower of Power show, also at the Cultural Center, is at 8 p.m. on Aug. 2. Tickets start at $45.65.
