SCRANTON — City police are investigating two stabbings that happened Sunday night into Monday.
Officers first responded around 9:48 p.m. Sunday to the 1800 block of Pittston Avenue for a reported stabbing, according to a news release Monday afternoon. Police found a man in the road with a stab wound to his groin, according to the release. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was in critical but not life-threatening condition; he underwent surgery and is now stable, police said.
Just over two hours later, police responded at 12:07 a.m. Monday to a stabbing in the 400 block of Penn Avenue, where they found an injured man at St. Francis Commons, according to a separate media release Monday. The man was also taken to a local hospital, police said.
