NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania, in conjunction with GroupMission Trips Inc., hosted about 300 volunteers to serve 41 older-adult-headed households in Carbondale this week with interior painting, exterior painting, yard maintenance and other various home repairs. SafetyWorks Week for Seniors was sponsored this year by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and the AZEK Co. (now part of James Hardie). Coterra Energy, the city of Carbondale and the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging also donated funds to provide the materials for the volunteers.
