Chili’s Grill & Bar is scheduled to open Monday at 3905 Commerce Blvd. in Dickson City in a newly constructed building at the site of what was most recently an Uno Pizzeria & Grill. The Texas-based casual dining chain’s first Lackawanna County location has sparked a frenzy of social media posts as fans of “The Office” celebrate the restaurant embracing the beloved NBC mockumentary set in Scranton. The restaurant’s decor and menu pay homage to some of its most notable on-screen moments, including a giant Chili’s Scranton Branch chalk art mural created by the original Chili’s artist from the early 2000s. Throughout its nine seasons, “The Office” had two episodes set in Chili’s — even though there was never a Chili’s in the real Scranton. The nearest Chili’s location had been in Luzerne County outside the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre Twp., which closed in January 2020.
