Police seek missing Moosic man

Moosic police are looking for a young borough man and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating him. Nicholas Terrery, 23, was last seen in the vicinity of Kipling Drive around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, police said. He was wearing a white golf hat, blue shirt and dark-colored shorts. Police said his last known location was Litzy’s Lounge in Avoca at approximately 9:55 p.m. Saturday. Anyone with information about Terrery’s current location is asked to contact the Moosic Borough Police Department through the Lackawanna County Communications Center at 570-342-9111.

Covington Twp. supervisors hear residents' concerns, vote to add data centers to its zoning

More than 30 North Pocono-area residents, landowners and taxpayers addressed their concerns about a proposed ordinance change to allow data centers in Covington Twp.

They worry about how the zoning change would impact their water, their power and their future — their high quality streams, their wildlife and forests and how the emissions from the machinery to power the servers would impact the environment.

Scranton allocates $125K in federal funds for affordable housing project

SCRANTON — The city on Monday announced the award of a $125,000 city grant from federal funds to a nonprofit agency to convert a vacant, rundown house in North Scranton into two three-bedroom affordable-housing units for two families. The grant comes from federal Housing and Urban Development money allocated to the city for the 2024 Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) category of HUD funds.
